Snack Ideas:

--chicken bones, steak bones, rib bones (all cooked)

--Goldfish Crackers (there is a low-sodium type)

--Wheat Thins

--Bread crusts

--Pizza crusts

--Graham crackers

--bits of fruit (pear, apple, banana, nectarine, grapes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber)

--Berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry)

--frozen peas

--veggies (romaine lettuce, cooked broccoli, cooked peas, carrots steamed or raw)

--Scrambled egg

--Few peices of shredded cheese

--Couple licks of ice cream or a chip-sized bite of brownie/cake

--And then... just about anything else I happen to be eating ;)

Foods Avoided:

Things generally bad for rats.

--Peanut butter (BIG choking hazard)

--Orange Juice or Orange peel/rinds (for boys--D-limonene is carcinogenic to male rats). The fruit itself is okay, as D-limonene is in the rind... but just in case, I'd avoid risking it at all.

--raw meats, raw potatos, and just about anything else raw that people wouldn't normally eat either

--blue cheese (toxic)

--raw red cabbage

--green bananas
